Avenue Gardens is a stunning tree-lined road, situated in Sub Area no 2 of the Mill Hill Conservation Area. It’s also located close to Acton Town underground, which was once named Mill Hill Park Station. The main interest of the second Sub Area is its atmosphere of an early garden suburb, with many large houses set back behind front gardens or sweeping driveways. There is a wonderful blend of materials here with red bricks, stucco or terracotta mouldings and decorative elements, slated or tiled roofs and some timber embellishments for porches or gables with a mix of casement and sash windows. Some of the houses have remained as houses, but many have been converted into flats
Despite offering a peaceful atmosphere of a suburban residential area, Avenue Gardens benefits from a fantastic location with Acton Town underground just a short walk away, and Gunnersbury Lane close by, allowing easy passage to M4/A40. In addition, you will find getting to and from Acton Town centre is quick and easy, and Hammersmith and Chiswick are just one Tube stop away.
Residents here are within the Catchment of Berrymede Primary School, and also benefit from being near to the Ark Priory, making this location highly popular with young families. With Acton High School and Acton College on the doorstep, it is a predominantly family orientated area. Occupants here can also take advantage of being within close proximity to Gunnersbury Park - a place to enjoy a family picnic, an afternoon stroll or a game of golf. There’s a tendered public park right at the heart of the conservation area - Mill Hill Gardens. This oasis provides an historical formal recreational space to this green area, and once homed tennis courts, tea dances, croquet and regular parties.
With simple access to local transport, the amenities of Acton Town centre nearby, and lots of green spaces to enjoy, Avenue Gardens is not only the perfect place for a family but also young couples.
