St. Albans Avenue is a long winding road cutting through the Bedford park area of Chiswick. This stunning avenue offers a wonderful concoction of Victorian terraces with bay windows and terracotta mouldings, and also Georgian styled homes with stucco decorative elements, sash windows and well tendered front gardens and impressive driveways. There are also some 1930’s style houses and purposes-built flats at the northern end of the street, too. Awash with red brick, stunning stone features and quaint front gardens, you get a real feel of a suburbia setting in a central London location.
Chiswick Park Underground and Turnham Green are but a short walk away from the street, and buses passing at the end of the road allow for quick and easy travel into Chiswick, Hammersmith and Acton. Getting to and from the City is a simple talk, and residents can easily apply for a parking permit, too.
An easy commute is only one of many reasons why St. Albans Avenue is such a popular location. Bedford Park is home to some wonderful places including Chiswick Park and Southbury playing fields, and the wonderful Duke of Sussex pub is also just round the corner on Acton Lane. There’s also Le Vacherin – a wonderful French restaurant – and a tailor shop in the area.
A trip to Laveli’s Bakery (at the end of the road) is also a must for locals. The bakery is renowned for its delicious bread, pastries and hot drinks, and offers a wonderful seating area where diners can soak up the sun. With two great churches at either end of the street and a doctors’ surgery within walking distance, there is little else you need! But nevertheless, Chiswick High Road and Turnham Green Terrace are but moments away with their wonderful boutique shops and stunning bars and restaurants.
With all these wonders in the local area - and also Orchards Primary School and Caterpillar Montessori Nursery within walking distance, it is little wonder St. Albans Avenue is such a popular location with families looking for a family home. What with the great connections to London as well as the great local community, the area has seen a huge number of young professionals move in. A sound investment or a family haven – this is a road that would suit all.
