Eccles road is a one way residential road, linking Lavender Hill and Battersea Rise, just moments from Clapham Junction station. This tree-lined street consists of pretty period homes with original features, such as tall ceilings and bay windows. Some of these houses have now been converted into stunning modern flats. Sitting in the middle of the road is a well-known antique shop - Eccles Road Antiques.
Clapham Junction Station (Overground and National Rail) is only a five minute walk away, and has direct links to locations such as Waterloo, Victoria and Gatwick Airport. At both end of the roads there are number of buses and night buses which take you to various locations in and out of central London. For those wanting to cycle their destination, there are also a few Santander cycle docking stations located nearby.
Parking on the street is for permit holders from 8.30am – 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, or a ticket can be bought for a maximum of 2 hours. This prevents commuters using the road to park, leaving more space for residents.
On Battersea Rise, there are a variety of restaurants to choose from, such as Cornish Tiger, The Humble Grape (which is one of our “Portico Places”), and The Breakfast Club. There are a variety of bars and pubs here too, such as The Southsider Cocktail Club (also one of our “Portico Places") and The Merchant.
On Lavender Hill, there are also a number of restaurants and bars, including Pizza Express and Revolutions, plus a large 24 hour Asda store and a Debenhams department store.
This street is only moments from the green open spaces of Clapham Common, which is home to a number of fitness camps, family clubs and even festivals.
With the excellent transport links, the fact something is always going on, and the community vibe of the area, it is no wonder this street is popular with young professionals and families.
