Nightingale Lane is a popular tree lined road that links Wandsworth Common to Clapham common.
This road is full of character with different types of buildings including grand period houses, Grade II listed mansion blocks and purpose built properties. There are also churches, schools and nurseries which contribute to this lively community.
There are two parades of shops which are located along the south side of the road including a dry cleaners, a salon and a patisserie, called Nightingale patisserie which serves tasty cakes and also “babyccino” a foamy-milk so kids can join in on your coffee break.
Located in the middle of this road The Nightingale is a Mid-Victorian cottage style pub. It’s very popular for the local residents with their array of food and drinks options and also their competitive quiz nights.
There is also a Sainsbury local for those who need to get the essential items. There are bigger supermarkets towards Clapham South and Balham, including a Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s.
To the east of the road is Clapham South Underground Station (Northern Lane) formally known as Nightingale Lane and is within both Zone 2 and 3. It takes just over 15 minutes to get to the city (Bank).
To the west of the road is Wandsworth Common main line station which has links to Surrey and London Victoria. Other surrounding Stations include Balham main line and underground station which also takes you to the city and outside of London.
For parking, there is an option to park on the main road in selected bays with a permit or you can pay and display. Residents on Nightingale Lane also have the options of parking on the smaller residential road should their permit allow it.
With the local school, nurseries and amenities, this area is very popular with families and even young professionals due to the community feel and the great transport links.
