Thanks to a transport grant, Balham town centre is to be given £350,000 for street and transport improvements, including improvements to Bedford Hill and Hildreth Street.
Wandsworth is set to receive a £3.8m transport grant from the Mayor of London's office and the main areas to benefit from the cash include Clapham Junction, Old York Road and Balham town centre.
A large chunk of the money, £400,000, will also be earmarked for the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme to Wandsworth in 2013.
Approximately £100k will help improve Clapham Junction town centre such as improving the road layout, renewing pavements and road surfaces, decluttering footways, planting new trees and upgrading lighting.
This contribution will be match funded by TFL and will see around 60 docking stations installed across parts of Putney, Wandsworth Town and Battersea. Find out more at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/travelchoices
