Help us fight homelessness
It’s nearly been a year since our rebrand and to celebrate our 1st birthday, we’ve partnered with The Passage to help fight homelessness.
Our job at Portico is to find people their dream property, but unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of a roof over their head.
That’s why we really wanted to support a charity that is dedicated to providing support for those who are sleeping rough, and putting an end to this housing crisis.
How are we helping?
To help support the cause and raise the profile of the charity, we’ll be putting up special Passage boards outside our Portico properties around London, and donating £10 for every board we put up.
The boards will stay up for the month of April, and will be supporting a really worthwhile cause. If you see one out and about, show us on social media and hashtag #PorticoPassage #helpthehomeless
The Passage is a local London charity that works tirelessly to provide resources which inspire and challenge the homeless to turn their lives around. The team runs the largest voluntary sector resource centre for the homeless, and each day help up to 200 vulnerable men and women. They also offer a 40 bedroom hostel, which has helped a huge number of residents transform their lives and beat homelessness, and they also have 16 self-contained flats for very long-term rough sleepers.
As well as providing the resources needed to help the homeless, they also have a team of 8 who go out on the streets of London late at night and first thing in the morning to give advice, support and care to those sleeping rough.
Andrew Hollingsworth, Business Director, The Passage:
“The Passage works with people who are homeless on the streets of London, and last year we helped about 3,000 individuals transform their lives for the better. This work is only possible because of generous donations from individuals and organisations. We are truly grateful for all support that we receive. Thank you Portico.” Andrew Hollingsworth, Business Director, The Passage.
The Passage have already helped hundreds of people who have found themselves on the streets, read about their successes here.
When will our campaign start?
We’ll be starting the campaign on Friday 1st April and we will be keeping you updated about how much money we raise. We’re aiming to raise £2,000 from the boards, but we’ll also be accepting individual donations.
Give us a call on 020 7099 4000 if you’d like to donate.
Wish us luck!
