It was manic, tiring and involved a lot of coffee, but we’ve finally rebranded as Portico. But the work doesn’t end there. The next big job is to let everyone know. We put our heads together and decided the best way to spread the Portico word was to launch a marketing campaign on our new social media sites, asking people to share photos of themselves with their new Portico shopper bag.
We gave out the stylish totes to each of our employees at the launch event and we plan on giving out thousands more to residents based near our 11 offices.
As Managing Director Robert Nichols joked: “Girls, you can use the bag to carry a spare pair of shoes, and boys – you can carry the bag for the girls.”
Inside each bag was a little Portico card asking each member of the team to follow and share a photo (of their Portico bag) with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest – making sure to hashtag #portico and #launch. In return for the best selfie we were offering £50 worth of John Lewis vouchers.
It was a huge success! We’ve seen dogs in Portico bags, Portico bags on the beach, Portico bags taking America by storm, Diana Ross with a Portico bag - yes really - Portico bags on the front of Boris bikes – and of course a lot of Portico bags being proudly worn (in the loosest sense of the word) by our lovely employees.
