Marchmont Street is a quiet one-way road just south of Kings Cross St Pancras and Euston stations and just north of Russell Square making it a very accessible location.
This beautiful street is home to a variety of local shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, residential homes and the iconic Brunswick Centre that is known for its residential dwellings and shopping area. The Brunswick Centre is a grade 2 listed building and dates back to 1972 on completion of the build. The iconic centre now contains 560 residential flats that are either owner occupied or tenanted by a mixture of residents from professionals to students. It is particularly popular with students as it’s within a short walking distance of many London Universities such as UCL, LSE, SOAS and Central St Martins. As well as the residential dwellings it is now home to an array of well-known restaurants such as Yo Sushi, Nando’s and Carluccio’s just to name a few, Waitrose supermarket and many high end retailers. It has everything a local resident would need.
Taking up the corner of Marchmont Street is a popular drinking hole called The Marquis Cornwallis which is a very fine pub serving a variety of beers and ales, as well as wine and classic pub food. The pub has just finished its refurbishment and visitors can enjoy the fine surroundings as well as the drawing room upstairs. In the summer months’ people will be seen drinking and eating outside on the roadside area watching the world go by.
If the pub and restaurants aren’t for you then there is also a Fitness First gym on Marchmont Street where you can become a member from as little as £30 a month.
Marchmont Street is undoubtedly in a beautiful setting with many of Bloomsbury’s well known squares and gardens within a short walking distance away such as Russell Square and Coram Fields making it a very pleasant area to live or visit in central London.
