Portico Camden has enjoyed a great year so far - in terms of both lettings and sales. Following the Referendum and the vote to leave the European Union, the market did experience slight hysteria; we saw some sales falling through due to panic, and we also saw increasing numbers of people extending their rental contracts unsure of what the market will do next.
But bring the market to the present day and the hysteria has certainly waned. We still find ourselves facing the problems we were experiencing pre-summer, with increasing numbers of applicant on the sales and lettings side outstripping the supply of property on offer, but overall the market is strong. We’ve seen a good numbers of sales taking place, but a lack of rental properties coming on to market following the Stamp duty reform, which is boosting rental values across the market.
What’s going on in Camden?
•Camden has welcomed the presence of Street Food giant KERB, which brought over 30 new street food stalls to the Camden Market in August
•Construction of the new Cycle Super Highway is still underway, which is causing some delays at busy times down Finchley Road and Avenue Road with planned finishing times now pushed back till towards the end of this year
•We hope our tenants and new home owners are enjoying our wonderful Portico Places - Shaka Zulu, Gilgamesh, Cafe Loren, The Cuban, Jeju Hair, Arancini brothers, La Collina, In-Fusion Tea, Salon Sin and The Fitness Mosaic. Check out the Portico Places page to see the available offers!
We’re looking forward to a busy autumn period and closing the year on a high. If you’re looking to move to the area or if you’re thinking of selling your Camden home, we’d love to help you make your next property move.
