Jamestown Road is a fantastic and vibrant road located in the heart of Camden. In 1861 Gilbey’s Gin opened their warehouse on Jamestown Road, formerly known as the Bottle Warehouse. It was built by William Hucks and now it is incorporated into what is known as Gilbey House, which homes some fantastic apartments.
There is no specific style of property on Jamestown Road as they all differ somewhat. There is one parade of Victorian properties at the east side of Jamestown Road and the rest are a mixture of purpose built and commercial premises.
Jamestown Road has some fantastic restaurants, such as The Dinner which offer some great American style food, or chain Wagamama which always provides fantastic food for all. If you are into cocktails, there is a fantastic bar nearby which serves up over 200 cocktails in a music-friendly, two-floor bar with leather seats and exposed brick walls. Alternatively, there is a more traditional public house, which is based on the corner of Camden High Street and Jamestown Road, known as the Oxford Arms.
Jamestown Road is located perfectly for Camden Town station, providing commuters with easy access to Central London via the Northern Line.
The road itself is not a main road, due to the commercial premises, but there are a few parking facilities including street parking for residents and pay and display bays. Many of the purpose-built blocks already have underground parking included in the blocks.
There are many bus routes which pass near Jamestown Road, which offer great links to central London.
A great variety of residents call Jamestown Road home - many of which are professionals or young families. There is huge demand for the exclusive apartments and when they come to market they are snapped up in record time.
Jamestown Road is perfect for those who love luxury and enjoy being only a short walk from some of the best restaurants, pubs and bars in the capital.
