The property market in the Chigwell area has been a little slower than normal, and this has been the same throughout London.
We saw a lot of families making the most of the Easter Holidays and heading out of the area on holiday, but now the kids are back at school we’re already seeing a noticeable increase in activity, with houses priced between £500k and £950k attracting the most interest.
The upcoming General Election has definitely caused buyers and sellers to be a bit more hesitant, but we’re sure once a decision has been reached confidence will be injected in the market and we’ll see activity increase even more.
What’s going on in the area?
•For those looking for a new home, we have two new developments in Chigwell! One is Eden Lodges, offering a range of luxurious 2-4 bedroom apartments, plus an on-site pool and on-site parking. The other is The Cube, which will offer an array of 1-3 bed apartments in the heart of Chigwell. It’s still in its early stages at the moment but we’ll keep you updated with any news
•There is a whisper of a new bus route running from Chigwell Row to Woodford Bridge happening later on this year. If the service comes into play then it would be free and would work wonders for the local schools, passing through both West Hatch and Chigwell
•Epping Forest shopping centre in Langston Road, Loughton is making progress and is due to be finished and open to the public in September this year. They have also now confirmed some more large retailers: Next, TJX Ltd (owners of TK Max and Hobbycraft), Mother Care and Pets at Home. The site will also create around 200 new jobs helping the local economy massively
