Ferndale Road is a very attractive area for families and professionals as it’s located between Clapham North Tube Station (Northern Line), Clapham High Street Train Station (Overground), Brixton Tube Station (Victoria Line) and Brixton Train Station (Overground). Parking in this area is residential permits only.
The streets in this area and the surrounding areas consist of 19th century terraced houses and 19th century freehold cottages.
Ferndale Road is a very popular area because of great schools, i.e. Iqra Primary School, Stockwell Primary School, Lansdowne School, New Mind School, Loughborough Primary School, St Andrews Church of England Primary School, Kings Avenue School and Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School.
You will also find great medical centres in the area, such as Edward Dr Helen, Healing Arts Network, Dr Jean Neumann and Lambeth Hospital.
If you like a place to prayer you are within close proximity to Brixton Baptist Church, Brixton Seventh Day Adventist Church, Gospel Auditorium, St Pauls Church, Bible Truth Church Of God and Brixton Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre,
Shopping is also fantastic as you have all the large Supermarkets such as Tesco, Lidl, Marks & Spencer, Simply Natural Health store, and plenty of private little stores in surrounding area. If you are looking for fashion, you’ll find plenty of High Street shops and independent boutiques in Brixton or on Clapham High Street.
You could never get bored in this area as there is always something going on. There’s a host of trendy bars, restaurants and coffee shops in the area, and the Chocolate Museum is just around the corner. If you want to chill out and unwind, Pop Brixton is perfect. It’s a popular space that offers bars, food and live music. It can be a great starting place for an exciting night out.
Planet Ice is a wonderful place to visit; it is very reasonable priced at £9.00 including skate hire, and the staff are nice and helpful. It is close to Brixton train and Tube station. There is lots of room to skate around, and the wobbly will be pleased to know there’s also a hand rail to hold onto and (inanimate) penguins to aid smaller skaters. Spectators are charged £2.00.
Ferndale Community Sports Centre, Papas Park, Slade Gardens and Garden Brasserie are all nearby if you are looking for recreation areas for the kids or pets.
