Narbonne Avenue is one of the more sought-after streets in Abbeville village. The road itself is excellently located between Abbeville Road and Clapham Common South side, which is home to Clapham Common. The street is home to beautiful Victorian homes ranging from ground and first floor maisonettes, through to converted flats and large family houses. It's a pretty, tree-lined street and also has permit parking limitations to avoid issues for residents when parking. The street features red brick properties, with large sash windows, ornate porches and high ceilings.
The west end of the street finishes right by the Common. It's a beautiful scene with the fishing lake immediately visible. Claphams most famous landmarks, the Windmill pub, is also just a short walk away, which is a regular haunt for many residents. The pubs is used by people from all walks of life: dog walkers, cyclists, sports fans, runners and the local sports teams often are found at this pub at the weekends. At the opposite end of the street lies the The Ginger Pig; the company began over 20 years ago, with a near-derelict farmhouse and three Tamworth pigs. They now farm over 3,000 acres of our own pasture and North Yorkshire moorland, and work with a small network of like-minded farmers to supply seven London butchers’ shops. This butchers is their first foray into south London, and offers two huge counters - one filled with meat, poultry and sausages and the other jam-packed with a selection of cured and cooked produce, as well as a growing selection of spices, chutneys, jellies and dry goods.
One of the reasons why Abbeville Road is so well thought of is because it is home to many other brilliant food businesses, a warm hub of independent restaurants, cafes and a marvellous deli too. Narbonne Avenue is ideally located next to these amenities and also within easy walking distance to two Tube stations: Clapham Common and Clapham South. The property and rental prices continue to improve in the area, and it’s simply a fantastic street to move to in south west London.
