North Street connects Clapham Old Town to the Wandsworth Road and further across into Battersea. It’s a single lane tree-lined street with predominantly Victorian properties, which range from houses, flats and commercial properties. If you choose to live on this street then parking permits are required. The street has retained a great deal of its original charm and has a distinct village feel, despite being so close the bustling centre of Clapham Common.
Despite being a residential street, this road actually has plenty of amenities to choose from. From the top rated Virgin Active to the North Street Deli, there is something for everyone. The Deli is renowned for its excellent range of sandwiches, salads and deli items. They have a different daily special, so there’s something to suit everyone, and quiche, treats and other snacks change daily. There is also a small cosy seating area in the back, making this a real favourite of the local residents. There is also the Mongolian Grill restaurant which is known for its Oriental BBQ and Hotpot stews, offering a combination of oriental and new fusion recipes. There is also a hairdresser, dry cleaners, food and wine off licence and florist.
This street is fantastic for people who enjoy the outdoors, as the green space of Clapham Common is within a very short walking distance. Many use this area for cycling, running and other team sports. There are also many events on the summer in the common, including Download festival.
Within close proximity to great transport links, including Clapham Common Underground and Wandsworth Road railway station, getting into or out of the City has never been easier. There are also regular local buses to get around as well. It's a fantastic spot with the popular Old Town on the doorstop.
