Forest Gate in east London is becoming the top choice for the capital's renters due to its affordability and improving transport links; access to the City and Docklands is quick and easy via Forest Gate station, and Wanstead Park station offers direct access into north London. Residents here are spoilt for choice, with three train stations barely half a mile apart: Forest Gate, Wanstead Park and Maryland station.
The sales market in Forest Gate is very healthy, with homebuyers drawn to the area’s green open spaces around Forest Gate and Manor Park, the value-for-money period property and the potential for further capital growth.
The area offers a wonderful range of older period properties. The Forest Gate Woodgrange Conservation area is actually right behind our office, where you’ll find spacious Victorian properties built circa 1875.
What’s going on in the area?
•A lot of new trendy coffee shops, pubs and eateries have opened up around the Forest Gate area, catering for the new wave of younger buyers migrating from Hackney, Islington, Bethnal Green and Shoreditch
•At the moment the biggest hype in the area however is the imminent Crossrail station! The Elizabeth Line will be fully operational in 2020 and will include fast trains to Tottenham Court Road, Paddington and a host of other popular central London locations
•Built to host London 2012, the former Olympic Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London Stadium is home to West Ham United in the Premier League, to UK Athletics as well as playing host to global entertainers in concerts through the summer months. It has hosted the Rugby World Cup, The Race of Champions, the RFL Four Nations and Saracens v Harlequins, and has committed to serve as the heart of the local community
