“Muster Village” as it is fondly referred to, incorporates the surrounding streets that stem off Munster Road. Munster Road itself is the spine and where the area has obtained its name from. The architecture along Munster Road is varied, with Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses making up a large section. Shops and cafes are also frequent along this road.
Munster Road connects four major roads within SW6: New Kings Road and Fulham Road to the south, and both Lillie Road and Dawes Road to the north. Munster Village has become increasingly more popular in recent times; the draw is the large number of shops and amenities that stretch along the length of the road.
The quality of restaurants and cafes in the area has improved significantly in last decade. The local favourite is Locale, an Italian restaurant which serves up delicious dishes in a welcoming setting. A quaint and rustic Italian restaurant, Locale boasts a beautiful terrace which always proves popular for summer dining. The food is classic Italian and the restaurant is renowned for the high quality exotic cocktails it constructs. Another local favourite brunch and lunch spot is Olive. It’s an independent café that is now renowned for its quality coffee and freshly made canapés.
This location is well placed for bus routes such as the 424 which journeys along the Munster Road, the 22 and the 14 to the South which are direct routes to Sloane Square and South Kensington respectively. There is also the option to walk to Fulham Broadway or Parsons Green Tube, which joins onto the District Line from the South of Munster Road. Alternatively, if you are based towards the North of the road, the best option may be to head towards Barons Court Tube where you can join a different branch of the aforementioned District line at or the Piccadilly line.
Due to the plethora of amenities and good transport links, Muster Road appeals to a variety of different home owners and renters. The "Munster Village" area is continuing to grow in popularity, and recently it has been particularly popular with couples, young professionals and families, attracted to the wealth of new cafes, delis and boutiques.
