Brackenbury Road is a beautiful tree-lined road in the heart of Brackenbury Village. The properties are mainly period buildings of either three or four bedroom houses or conversion flats and maisonettes, meaning there is a good selection to suit all prospective buyers. The pretty bay windows and well maintained properties add to the already lovely appearance of the road. The road also benefits from a few independent, specialist shops and eateries that add to the village-like community feel of the area. This includes the delicious Brackenbury Delicatessens and Brackenbury Restaurant, both of which are very popular with local residents and customers from farther afield.
The road is located within easy walking distance to Hammersmith Broadway. The Broadway offers access to the Piccadilly, Central, District and Hammersmith and City lines as well as the 24 hour bus station. There is also ample parking on the road which is controlled Monday to Friday from 9am until 5pm and for Residents permits or ticket holders only. As well as being home to a variety of shops, cafes and local pubs, Brackenbury Road is also a short walk away from the shops of Hammersmith Broadway and King Street as well as Chiswick High Road.
Dating back to the 1860s, the road was built on former market gardens and brickfields. However by the mid-20th century, a lot of the properties were run down and the local council even considered demolishing our beloved Brackenbury Village! Luckily homes were slowly improved until gentrification took hold in the 1980s.
With a real sense of community and pretty architecture, Brackenbury Road has a good reputation for being a friendly neighbourhood. Along with the great schools close by and Ravenscourt Park, the area is well liked by families as well as professionals looking to take advantage of the great transport links. It’s a popular area for property owners and buy to let investment, with buyers having long-term plans to stay in the Brackenbury area.
