Barnsbury Road is a gorgeously classical street in Islington, lined with grand white-stuccoed Georgian facades and post-war apartments with a couple of quirky buildings speckled in between. While many of the period properties have now been converted into flats and duplexes, a number of them remain four or five bedroom family homes.
Ideally located only a few minutes from Angel station, Barnsbury Road not only benefits from easy Northern Line access but also takes advantage of quick links all over London (and beyond via the Eurostar) at King’s Cross St Pancras. Bus stops along this convenient road also lead down towards Angel station and to Finsbury Square. As well as trains and buses, Barnsbury Road offers its residents the opportunity to apply for on-street parking through the local council and guests can make use of the pay-as-you-go parking meters.
On the west side of Barnsbury Road, the large and impressive Barnard Park runs the majority of its length. The park is just over 9 acres and includes a full size redgra football pitch as well as a huge adventure playground. The local area is home to a number of local nurseries primary schools and secondary schools. Vittoria Primary School is nestled behind Barnsbury Road, while Beckett House Montessori Nursery is found just around the corner on Richmond Avenue and Thornhill Primary School is located only a few minutes’ walk in the direction of Highbury. While Barnsbury Road is an obviously fantastic choice for young families, it also has some undeniable advantages for sharers with its ideal location just moments from Angel and its ever increasing main street, Upper Street, which offers a huge variety of restaurants and bars and also a big Vue cinema.
Not only is Barnsbury Road incredibly convenient with its prime location between Angel and King’s Cross stations, but it also has the added benefits of being surrounded by luscious green spaces, parks and of course the buzz of Upper Street and the nearby bars.
