Barnsbury Street is perfectly positioned in the heart of Islington. It has great access with intersections on three main roads: Upper St, Liverpool Road and Thornhill Road. At one end, Barnsbury Street is adjacent to the impressive, listed Islington Town Hall on Upper Street, one of the area’s most popular wedding venues. The street finishes at the other end with Thornhill Primary School - one of the neighbourhood’s top schools for children up to Year 6.
Popular amongst professionals working in the City, this location is almost equal walking distance to both Highbury and Islington and Angel stations, giving access to the Overground, Victoria and Northern Lines respectively, plus there are numerous bus links available on Upper Street and Liverpool Road.
If you own a car, parking is simple. You have the choice of an IS-E residents Permit which can be obtained through the council, or you can park your car in one of the many paid parking bays. Business permit spaces are also available closer to Liverpool Road.
The only pub located on this street is The Drapers Arms. Proudly overlooking Lonsdale square, it has a great neighbourhood feel to it and boasts a delicious array of food and drink which can be enjoyed in a private dining room or the luscious garden out back. For entertainment you could visit the nearby Almeida theatre which produces a diverse range of performances and dramas, some of which have been transferred to the West End. If singing is more for you, then the Lucky Voice karaoke bar is worth a visit.
In the warmer months, this tree-lined street fills with foliage and shade and those lucky enough to live here can sometimes forget that they live in the heart of the borough.
