Canonbury Park South runs adjacent to the New River Walk and is smack bang in the heart of the Canonbury Area. The tree-lined street offers a variety of property types, including classic period conversions, purpose-built developments, terraced houses as well as detached and semidetached and a selection of red brick mansion blocks. It is a lovely residential street and many buildings have a small front garden, and the leafy green shrubbery adds to the character of the area.
Being a residential area, there is a large number of parking spaces available, most of which are resident permit bays, although there are a few pay and display bays available. For transport, the closest Tube station is Highbury & Islington, which has both the Victoria Line and the London Overground. Essex Road station is also a short walk away and has the London Overground, providing access to the City, and Angel Tube station is a 10 minute stroll away, providing the Northern Line with access to London King’s Cross in one stop.
The surrounding area is well established for its history. Take a stroll around and you’ll notice many blue circle plaques posted about on the properties here, listing the names of significant past residents, such as novelist George Orwell, Actor Samuel Phelps and designer Vanessa Bell. There are plenty of things to do nearby, you will find the locals descend upon the Alwyne Castle pub to sample their freshly prepared pub food, or perhaps you fancy trying various fine wines at the Myddleton Arms on Canonbury Road. Canonbury Gardens offer a quiet escape from the city with its New River Path.
Canonbury Park South is ideally located in central Islington. This prime location offers residents the best of both worlds – a quiet tranquil spot amongst the residential area tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busier roads such as Upper Street and Essex Road, both of which are a short walk away.
