Set in the heart of the St. Peter’s area of Islington, Devonia Road is a wonderful tree-lined street stereotypical of Islington. The properties along here are a mixture of houses which remain untouched as three and four bedroom dwellings, and a selection of one, two and three bedroom conversions, carefully redesigned to keep original period features and architecture from the Georgian terraces. The leafy green trees, colourful panelled front doors, cast iron railings and sash windows add to the overall feel of the area.
It’s a practical location, with transport links just around the corner. For those needing the London Underground, Angel tube station is a short five minute walk. Here you can board the Northern line and head to the City or to King’s Cross in a few minutes. There’s also Old Street station which is a ten minute stroll away. For parking, residents can obtain a permit from the council.
If convenience is key for you, this is the location. On St. Peter’s Street at the top of the road is St. Peter’s Medical Practice, there’s also the Duke of Cambridge pub with its stripped wooden décor and famous organic foods. On the road itself is Our Lady of Czestochowa and Saint Casimir Church which provides a great community feel for the area. The gentrification of City Road Canal Basin, just south of the road will only attract more interest to the location over the coming years, with new developments sprouting up left, right and centre!
With excellent transport links and great local conveniences, Devonia Road is an excellent choice of location for Islington. In addition to the above, Upper Street is a short walk away. Here you can pick up an early morning croissant with your coffee to go from a number of boutique cafes, or a last minute catch up over a glass of wine or a cold beer with some old friends in town. All of this combined make for a popular location here in Islington.
