Duncan Terrace is a typical Georgian terrace that overlooks two lovely community maintained gardens, both Colebrooke Row Gardens and the namesake Duncan Terrace Gardens. The majority of the houses along here remain as large, unconverted three, four and five bedroom properties, mostly with owner occupiers in place. There are however a selection of flats which have converted from their original layouts with careful planning to maintain the original period features. With beautiful pink blossom trees and tall willows overhanging the gardens this is a really picturesque part of Islington.
There is a mixture of pay and display parking bays and a handful of residential permit holder spaces, although as usual a permit must be obtained from the local council which can be found nearby on Upper Street. The residents love the location for its close proximity to Angel tube station which is a short 2 minute stroll away, providing quick commutes into the City.
Given that the area boasts plenty of well-run primary schools, and the high number of owners who live in these properties, this is a popular location for families. Given that Upper Street is a stone’s throw away the area does still attract young single professionals and couples who like a quiet street but still want to be close by to a lively neighbourhood.
This is an exclusive Islington location and with such a short walk to the transport links at Angel tube station, the bars, restaurants and cafes on offer at Upper Street, this really is a prime spot for those wanting to be in the area.
