Essex Road features a plethora of varying property styles, with an abundance of traditional three-storey townhouses and above-shop period conversions found alongside more modern developments such as City View Apartments.
Access into the City could not be more simple, and there’s a direct train route from Essex Road station itself that leads to both Old Street and Moorgate station. If you need to get further afield, Canonbury Overground station can be found to the north of the road while Angel Northern Line station is to the south. Bus links into central London are also readily available from this road with key destinations including King’s Cross, Victoria, Waterloo, St Paul’s and Stoke Newington to name a few.
Running between the desirable area of Canonbury and the ever-popular Angel region of the Islington borough, Essex Road can not only be seen as fantastic in light of its transport links but is also perfectly located for life after work. A huge variety of international cuisine can be found here, including Peruvian and Japanese. Many of Islington’s most well-known food havens are just moments away, with Smokehouse at the Canonbury end and Meat People, a mouth-watering steakhouse, at the Islington Green end. Essex Road is renowned in the area for its great choice of antiques shops which range from architectural treasures to vintage mirrors. An original Banksy piece is also located on this street with many stopping to see the envisaged child paying homage to Tesco, despite the piece being defaced not long after it was discovered.
Brilliant commuter links, a city life buzz and walking distance to popular local schools all converge to make Essex Road an ideal location for young professionals and young families alike.
