Situated within the Barnsbury Conservation area, Gibson Square is one of Islington’s premier locations and provides its residence with a typical London garden in which it is based around. The large town houses along here have mostly been converted into flats which are presented to an excellent standard. There are however plenty of four and five bedroom houses that have a large number of owner occupiers in place. The typical cast iron gates, panelled doors and sash windows add to the overall charm of the area.
Most of the bays here are resident permit only, although there is a small section of three or four bays toward the Liverpool Road end that provides parking for up to four hours with pay and display. Residents usually pick this location due to the short walk to Angel tube station to the south of Upper Street and Highbury and Islington station at the north end of the street.
There is a wide variety of people living in this picturesque neighbourhood, ranging from young professionals and couples who are keen on the vibrant social scene nearby, to families who have relocated from abroad and those who have lived here for years. It is a great option for those wanting to be close to the city centre but want to live in a relaxed and quieter neighbourhood with the knowledge that should they fancy a glass of wine catch up or dining at an award winning restaurant, Upper Street is just around the corner.
All the local amenities are available on Liverpool Road, with grocery stores and supermarkets, shopping centres with retail outlets and designer clothing. On Upper Street there is no lack of choice of bars, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Gibson Square provides a bit of everything for its residence making it an extremely popular place to live.
