Islington Green is a small triangle of green park space that divides Upper Street and Essex Road (which used to be called Lower Street). Islington Green is home to one of Islington’s most coveted developments, Islington on the Green, which is nestled behind and above the restaurants and book shop below. Most of the apartments here benefit from a concierge service and many have a luxurious finish with beautiful private terraces to boot. At this site previously stood Collin’s Music Hall, a hugely successful live concert and show venue, before it tragically burnt down.
Only two minutes up the road from Angel station (Northern Line) and around ten minutes to Highbury and Islington station (Victoria and Overground lines), Islington Green is ideally situated for an easy commute to the City or to London Bridge which is only 15/20mins by Tube. While parking is extremely limited, there is a Boris Bike parking station right outside which many residents make use of and, of course, you can also benefit from all of the bus routes that supply Upper Street and Essex Road. Buses from the Islington Green stop run towards Soho, Stoke Newington, Victoria, Fleet Street and Euston.
Islington Green is all about convenience. Just opposite you can find a Tesco Metro which will give you everything you need, or there’s a little Sainsbury’s just around the corner. Less than 5 mins walk down Upper Street towards Chapel Market you’ll come across a huge Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, M&S Food (not to mention all of the bars and restaurants en route including Five Guys, Wahaca and Wagamamas). With all of the unique pubs in the local area, including the free daily Angel comedy at the Camden Head, staying at Islington Green will make you spoilt for choice of an evening.
The properties surrounding Islington Green are great options for young professionals, whether they are couples or sharers, thanks to the fantastic amenities and the numerous entertainment and dining options that are just moments away.
