Nestled in the sought-after Barnsbury conservation area and running from the increasingly popular Upper Street and Angel area, Liverpool Road is a convenient and central residential area within the Islington borough. Comprised mostly of classical Georgian townhouses as well as a few more modern developments tastefully dotted in between, Liverpool Road exudes the air of classical Islington architecture desired by many.
Being so ideally located for access to North London via Holloway Road as well as central London through quick road links to both City and Pentonville Roads, it’s not surprising that this road is found to be popular amongst road-commuters. For those taking the tube, Angel and Highbury and Islington stations are both within a short walk and a slightly longer stride takes you to Kings Cross St Pancras with its trans-London links as well as International services. Buses that stop along this road include the 43, 153, 263, 271 and 393 which take you to London Bridge, Moorgate, Barnet, Barbican and Finsbury Park. A night bus also runs from Trafalgar Square to Tottenham Hale.
While the space between Liverpool Road and Upper Street is no longer one of the largest farm lands in the area, locals can now find the Angel centre and Business Design Centre bringing shopping, dining, cinema and exhibitions to the lower end of Upper Street. Another of the perks of residing along this fantastic road is having the Pork and Butcher Pub and Restaurant located on your doorstep where you can find yourself a terrific Sunday Roast.
Whether it’s the ideal transport links or pull of Barnsbury and Upper Street that draw you to Liverpool Road, it is an excellent place to call home for young professionals, sharers and young families alike.
