Owen Street runs off Goswell road and behind St Johns Street. The location is impeccable with Angel tube right on the doorstep. There are too many bus links to name that drive past this location; with Pentonville Road, St Johns Street, Upper Street, City Road and Goswell road, all intersecting 100m from Owen street travel throughout London couldn’t get much easier than this!
There is no parking allowed on this street, however it does lead to the Angel Southside’s underground car park. The majority of traffic is either foot or bicycles as Owen Street is a convenient bike bath to avoid the Angel intersection.
The most notable and only main building on this street is the Angel Southside Development. With 98 flats here and a Virgin Active gym built underneath it’s no wonder this is one of Islington’s most sought after developments for young professionals working in the city. Those that have a membership with Fitness First need not worry though as you can find a branch 100m away.
Owen Fields on Owen Street is a large public park spanning 0.4 acres that has been reserved for public use for many generations. It stands close to the centre of Islington and is well used during the summer months as a place of rest and relaxation for passers-by, local workers and visitors to the area.
Boldly standing on Goswell road yet tucked behind Owen Fields you can find two of City and Islington Colleges five centres, one of which being their Sixth Form College. This college has a strong track record of delivering success spanning 25 years with over 30 different A Levels on offer varying from Creative Writing to History of Art to Science. The college’s other centre located here is for Applied Sciences. Here students have the chance to study Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, Forensics, Sport Science, Vet Sciences and Engineering to name a few.
