Packington Street is a lovely tree-lined street near to Islington Green. The street is clearly identified by its uniform Georgian terraced houses which run the length of the road on both sides. Many of the houses have been converted into flats, however there is a large amount of owner occupiers who still reside in the remaining three and four bedroom properties. The multi-pane sash windows and beautiful brickwork add to the general appearance of the road.
For those who need parking, the majority of the street is for residents only, providing you have obtained a permit from the local council on Upper Street. There are a few pay and display spaces, but these are a maximum stay of 2 hours, meaning people tend to stay clear of them. Parking outside of 8:30am and 6:30pm is for anyone. PlusBus operate route 812 which stops along the road and will take you to most main parts of the borough. Angel station is a 5 minute walk away, as is Essex Road station.
There is a great mix of people who live in the area, from couples, families, single professionals and students. This adds to the friendly welcoming vibe of the area. Runners will enjoy the fact that Regents Canal is nearby, and those looking for some green spaces to chill and have a picnic can stroll to Rosemary Gardens which is 5 minutes’ away. This is a very artistic area, with two dance studios, an arts institute and a music school all on the parallel and adjoining roads.
Packington Street is so close to Upper Street and Islington High Street that everything you could need is practically on the doorstep, from local gyms, stylish restaurants, boutique bars and cafes and local supermarkets. It makes a great home for buyers and renters alike.
