Penton Street offers a real mix of character when it comes to building design. Here there are period conversions, new build apartments, purpose built blocks and even a church conversion. There's also a number of commercial premises along the road which offer a number of services, whether you need a new mirror from the furniture store or are looking for a greasy spoon cafe for a true English breakfast. It is also the entrance to Chapel Market.
There's no residents parking here, pay and display only, but you can request a resident’s permit for the surrounding streets from the local council on Upper Street. Transport links are great here even without a car - London buses have several routes which stop nearby that head in all directions, Camden, London Bridge, the City, West End - it's easy to get around. If you do need the train, Angel tube station is only a few minutes away and has access to the Northern Line. King's Cross is also a short walk away with seven London Underground lines servicing the station and National Rail services heading north outside the capital.
This is a very sociable area, bordering Clerkenwell and Islington, so there is no shortage of quirky bars, classy restaurants and delightful boutiques nearby. Chapel Market itself has a number of places, but Upper Street is just around the corner and this is Islington's top high street. Sadler's Wells theatre is not far away, with international tours for award winning dance companies. Or if you fancy some exciting new theatre the Almeida is nearby too.
There are supermarkets and local amenities all within walking distance which further adds to the convenience and makes Penton Street a great all round location.
