Milton Road is positioned in this wonderful location known as Poets Corner – This is one of my favourite parts of Walthamstow Perched just above the hustle and bustle of Hoe Street and central Walthamstow, it’s a lovely collection of quiet residential roads, ideally placed to explore all the sights and sounds of E17 and beyond. You can wander down Hoe Street to Lloyd Park for a game of tennis, or perhaps a slice of cake at the William Morris Gallery. Meander along Hoe Street in the other direction and check out the delights of The Scene, Eckovision, Mirth Marvel & Maude et al. Head up and across Church Hill, and the Village is there for your enjoyment, with bars and restaurants aplenty. And that’s before we even get to having Ye Olde Rose & Crown, Walthamstow’s own theatre and bar, literally on your doorstep. All this, and only a few minutes’ walk to the station as well.
Walthamstow Central is just a short walk away, offering Victoria line and Overground services, as well as the night Tube at the weekends. Walthamstow Mall offers a range of high street brands and supermarkets, Walthamstow market is still believed to be the longest Street market in Europe and there is also a Farmer market on a Sunday morning – offering lovely fresh seasonal Produce. Or walk the length of the market and enjoy a plate of Pie, Mash and liquor from Menzes or if you're feel brave a bowl of stewed eels.....
To top it off there is also a brand new cinema complex with a range of popular eateries such as pizza Express and Nandos. Whilst the old EMD cinema located just around the corner has been converted into a trendy pop up bar.
Walthamstow Village is a short distance away with the main shops, pubs and eateries all located on this small stretch of road (Orford Road) which has recently been pedestrianised to allow al fresco dining and pop up markets to appear at the weekend. The upmarket Spar directly opposite has been featured in numerous TV programmes and offers a range of delicious goodies including Artisan bread and Home made Cakes.
The Village features many sites of Historical interest including St Marys Church and Vestry House Museum . A short walk away you will find Walthamstow’s very own Micro Brewery (Wildcard) and you will find it stocked in many of the warm friendly pubs the Village hosts.
