Camden High Street is the main street of the vibrant Camden Town area. In 1791, The Earl of Camden started to develop and build properties, and the majority of the properties here are wonderful apartments above commercial units which have been converted to an excellent standard. In addition to the apartments above commercial developments, there is a new development of apartments currently being built next door to the Pret A Manger just south of the Camden Town station. These will be luxury apartments and a price is yet to be issued.
There is no traditional style of build along the whole of Camden High Street, and you can see all different eras and styles on the street, from Georgian to Victorian and post-war. As you move closer to the Camden market end of the high street, you will notice more extravagant shop fronts, which have been embellished to a great level. Camden Market is also located on the street and has a wide variety of stalls and shops which are thriving with hidden treasures; the food stalls are certainly worth a try!
Camden High Street is located between two Tube stations: Camden Town and Mornington Crescent, both which provide commuters with easy access into central London via the Northern Line.
The road itself is the A400, therefore there is no parking for residents, but there are loading bays which are used for businesses. Many bus routes pass through Camden High Street which offer great links from central London to outer suburbs, including Friern Barnet.
There is a fantastic and wide variety of residents in Camden High Street, with much individuality. Many are young professionals or students which attend UCL - which is located just a short walk away. This creates much demand for investment properties in the area and many investors fight for properties on this street.
Camden High Street has a wide variety of restaurants, bars cafes and even night clubs - there certainly is something for everyone. There are main supermarkets in the area, such as Waitrose M&S, and smaller convenience stores.
This street is perfect for those who love to shop, dine and even enjoy the occasional glass of wine, and there are amazing transport links too.
