Walking into GSF Motor Works was like stepping into the Grease Lighting scene in Grease. There were some impressive vintage cars on display, the sound of engine revs filled the room, and everywhere I looked there was a mechanic hanging over an open bonnet. I concealed my excitement as I shook hands with Manager Panos Stemitsiotis, who gave me a tour of the workshop and let me know a little bit more about GSF…
GSF Motor Works is an independent car servicing, mechanical and bodywork repair workshop in south west London. They specialise in serving quality European cars, such as Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen. The actual garage is located on Broughton Street in Battersea, which is about a five minute walk from Queenstown Road station.
The first thing that strikes me about GSF is the friendliness of the staff. Panos introduces me to the team, who stop working on the motors for a hello and a chat. The guys tell me that they have a loyal client base, which they put down to their know-how and advanced diagnostic tools. They also tell me that they’ll always go above and beyond to make their clients happy, whether that means picking up a car from a client’s home or place of work, or working around the clock to get something fixed in time.
As we’re walking around, it’s evident GSF is not your typical repair workshop. There’s a spacious reception complete with glamorous receptionist, a drinks fridge and a seating area, and upstairs there’s a separate office. The workshop itself is absolutely huge, with seven main servicing bays, an auxiliary bay and a dedicated station to MOT testing. Panos also tells me they have the capacity to carry out tyre fitting and balancing as well as laser guided four wheel alignment and steering geometry testing. The mechanics use high-tech tools and the latest machinery, and can carry out a range of services for all your vehicle’s needs. (They do a great job on our Portico Mercedes and Range Rovers!)
