Just moved to the area or looking to expand your interests? The East Dulwich Women’s Institute is the place to go for women from East Dulwich and the surrounding areas who all share a common interest - a love of crafts, learning new skills and, of course, socialising.
Founded in July 2007, there are 60+ members and a 12-strong committee, and are presently looking for more like-minded ladies to join the group. The WI prides itself on listening to their members and creating interesting activities such as craft projects, insightful speakers and presentations and usually at least one wine tasting a year.
The WI meet on the first Wednesday of each month at The Lodge, above East Dulwich Tavern, 1 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, SE22 8EW. Meetings start at 7.30pm (please come along from 7:00pm).
Events over the next few months include local history walks, flower arranging, croquet with a picnic, yoga and creative writing. For more information visit www.eastdulwichwi.co.uk
“Dulwich has a great community spirit for all residents, whether they are owner occupiers or tenants just planning to stay for a short period of time,” says Ashley Harris, manager at the Dulwich branch of lettings agent Bushells. “As lettings agents, we pass on all information to tenants and landlords about local events and groups in the area.”
