The sun is shining and spring is officially here, making it the ideal time to have a good old clear out in your home or rental property. But how can you get rid of your clutter in an ethical way?
Gone for Good is the free app that makes it easier for you to donate your unwanted goods to local charity shops in need of valuable items. It will cost you nothing to donate the items, and using the app will help cut down on the amount of lost or stolen goods that charity shops often face.
Our friends at Just Landlords and Landlord News have partnered up with Gone for Good for 2017 to encourage landlords to get rid of their unwanted goods in an ethical way – and we want to encourage our clients to do the same!
Whether you’re a homeowner trying create a bit more space for yourself, a tenant moving out hoping to leave some items behind, or a landlord refurnishing your rental property, Gone for Good is here to help.
If you’ve got electrical items, pieces of furniture, clothing or other goods to get rid of, all can be donated through the app.
This handy infographic explains the whole process of using Gone for Good to get rid of your unwanted goods – from downloading the app to having your items collected by your chosen charity.
All you need to do is take some photos of your item(s), specify how much they originally cost (an estimate is fine) and then choose the charity you’d like to donate your goods to.
We know that space is at a premium in London, so you’ll be pleased to know that Gone for Good is partnered with many charity shops across the capital, making it easier for you to clear your clutter and make the most of the space you have.
Some great and worthy charities are signed up – from Cancer Research UK, to the British Heart Foundation, to Shelter.
Using the app will also re-channel the saleable items that currently end up in landfill, so you can rest assured that you’re doing something good for the environment too. We think it’s a brilliant idea - and if you do too, please download the app and help us share the news on social media! We're on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram!
