Porters Barbers has the feel of an old English barbershop. The unmistakable smell of cologne and tonics fill the air, the space is decked out in interesting ornaments and antiques, and the team are impeccably dressed. They’re also as friendly as they come - rushing round taking coats, serving coffees and making conversation. I popped in to find out a little more about what makes this Clapham-based barbers so popular…

Porters Barbers is located on London’s famous Abbeville Road, a few doors down from COOK and the Craft Kitchen. Exposed brickwork and quirky lights give the place a contemporary feel, while swanky leather chairs, hanging bird cages and old-school tills add to the old-school charm.

The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly; a team of barbers are snipping away and chatting to clients, the reception phone is buzzing and there’s music playing softly in the background. Their trained barbers clearly know how to cut men’s hair, using straight razor clippers to create classic and unique cuts - from the trendy pompadour style to the side parting fade.

As well as haircuts, Porters Barbers offers beard tidies, moustache trims and cut-throat razor shaves - ideal if you need a full de-fuzzing! They also offer some more unusual styling services in the form of dreadlocks, hair tattoos, cornrows, and hot-towel shaving.
Whatever your grooming needs, you can rest assured that the team at Porters will sort you right out.
